Bachelorette Party Cookies 2.0

Long time, no blog...

Why hello there.  I am currently trying to correct a misconnection caused by a delayed plane.  What better thing to do while you are on hold, than to update your blog, right?  Anyway, I was in Indianapolis last week, I am headed to Kansas City now (I hope), when I get home tomorrow I will have three days and then I leave for Uruguay.  Needless to say, I haven't weighed Harley lately, but she is huge and still gets prettier every day.

Surprisingly enough, I have gotten two orders knocked out in between these trips.  One was a wedding order, 10 dozen monogrammed cookies in eggplant and white.

The second order was for a "sip & see" baby "shower" of sorts.  So we went with 2 dozen baby's feet.

Also on the docket lately was a cabinet that John and I worked together to design, and he executed.  It looks pretty fantastic I have to say!

Alright, break is over.  I am not sure what the internet situation will be in Uruguay, but for those who don't know, I keep a separate blog for my periodic international travels, since there is never a dull moment.  We land in South America on Sunday, so if I get a chance, you can catch our stories over at: Summer Travels.

 

Bridal Shower + Tarleton Auction Cookies

This was my biggest order to date. Ten dozen cookies and four dozen cupcakes on top of a crazy work week, puppy class Tuesday, a banquet Wednesday, and I don't even remember what else happened. I didn't even have my sous chef, but somehow, I got it done.

Also, have I mentioned lately how much I dislike the bagging and tying process? And after this: 

I'm done. At least with the tying and cutting part. I am buying a bag sealer very, very soon. With a cutter. That means, all I have to do is put the cookies in the bag. Poof. Magic. Bagged, sealed cookies.  Thank you technology.  This does mean however that bagged and sealed cookies will be cheaper than bagged cookies with a ribbon.  Just FYI on that one.

Bachelorette Cookies

When I was first told that the order being placed was for a bachelorette party, I cringed a little - I'm not going to lie. When you Google "bachelorette cookies" you get some graphic, highly detailed, not-so-nice things. If you don't believe me, do it, and don't say I didn't warn you. 

Good news though, the accompanying request was for lingerie cookies. Due to life's crazy ways, they aren't exactly what I wanted, but they still turned out pretty stinking cute:

And black bras too, you get the idea. Anywho, this was my first "big" order, and it included cupcakes, that I iced for the first time in my life:

Not too shabby, right?! And LOTS of packaging, we know my feelings on that: 

All-in-all, I loved them, so did my sous chef, and so did the girls who received them. Good stuff :)

It's been a busy run, but I just want to say that the weather is good, I planted spring flowers, great things are happening to good people. Life feels good right now :)

Finished Ring Cookies

Here they are, in the requested shape and colors (turquoise and butter yellow). I'll admit, I was nervous about these, but the customer is happy and that is all that matters.

And, a "pupdate"......growing so fast, she really is a sweet little girl. We don't have all the kinks worked out yet but I'm staying optimistic that we will get there. This was Monday:

Will you be my bridesmaid?!?

This little project was actually my very first cookie request, but I had to keep it a secret until the cookies went out.  Between the small number of cookies I have created thus far, and some help from Pinterest, a friend of mine asked me if I could make "bridesmaid" cookies.  I said of course, and went on the hunt for a dress cutter that would be big enough.  Hobby Lobby had a dress cutter, but for a single-cookie gift it was just too small.  So I set out on another internet adventure and sent Miranda pictures until we found one that we liked.  We ended up not writing on them after all, but they are pretty stinkin' cute!

I think the ribbon really adds something special.  Miranda bought some precious tags to attach to each cookie bag, I hope the bridesmaids LOVE them!  Congrats Miranda!
